š’šš®ššžš§š: Kasiime Sarrah (9 yrs old) I want to go to school and get it because I know I can do anything I want with an education. My parents can not support me for long for my education; both of my parents do not work. Due to my disability, education is my only hope.

š’šš®ššžš§š: Asiimwe Ivan (6 yrs old) Kasiime is my aunt; I am a speaker for kasiime; we live together with my grandparent; I am a product of a single mother.

  • š’š©šØš§š¬šØš«: Amy Wong Iā€™m a wife, mom of two children, business owner, and author. I founded www.alwaysonpurpose.com and am committed to helping others thrive.

š’šš®ššžš§š: Kemigisa Doreen (15 yrs old) I am attending school in the ntoroko district. I am in S1, and my parents are struggling a lot. I have a fear that I may be given away to marriage soon. Currently, my two siblings have stopped going to school. My parents have been looking for a way to give me away for marriage. I have a dream: to take care of my siblings and hope to give them a chance to have an education; I cannot do that if my parents take me out of school to get married. I want to become a lawyer to fight child marriage, so girls like me do not have to live with the fear that they will be given away from marriage because things are hard at home.

  • Sš©šØš§š¬šØš«: She is an advocate, humanitarian, your friendly neighborhood social worker, world traveler, and professional nap taker. She has various experiences working with people from around the world and with different cultures. She loves to do anything outside, spend time with her loved ones, sleep, go to the gym, listen to music, laugh, travel, and help others.

š’šš®ššžš§š: My name is Kyaligonza Gloire, I am in P1, and I am proud to be raised by a single mother. My dream is to be a lawyer; this will help me fight for people who do not have the people to fight for. I watched people step over my mother just because her marriage did not work out. Nothing hurts like seeing others disrespect your mother just because she walked away from an abusive marriage. I wanted to be educated to fight for women like my mother. And I believe with unDEfeated, I will be able to reach my goal, and younger girls will find their voice.

Student: My name is Karungi Muteesi and I am 9 years old. My father passed away when I was a baby. I did not get the chance to see my father! It has been painful to see my mom raise me alone and the struggle and suffering that comes along. My mother is one of the kindest women; even when we do not have much to eat, she still shares the small things she has with our neighbors; my mom says she may not get me far in education because she is running out of what to do to get my school fees. My mother has been doing some business, selling food and milk, but since covid, the economy has been terrible! So it has been tough on her. I want to get an education to better myself and my mother, my dream is to create a restaurant that would be able to bring me some money, and I will be able to feed some people in the community.

Watching my mother suffer gives me motivation to education so I can help others. I want to give my mom at least a shop one day, so she does not have to dig gardens for people. I am asking unDEfeated to help me and support my mother! To give us hope so we can at least meet our basic needs.

š’šš®ššžš§š: Natukunda Roset (13 yrs old) When I grow up, I want to become a health education woman. I think many women in our community need help with education about health and how to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy! Parents send kids to marriage at a significantly younger age than when they get pregnant. They do not want to do it and are not educated about it.
